JAZZ MASS is Tore Johansen’s new mass for Choir, Sinfonietta and jazz group. The composition follows a traditional mass structure with latin and english lyrics, completed by a couple of poems by Rupert Brooke (1887-1915). The writing of the mass was supported by Arts Council Norway and the premiere was on the 19th of December 2008, in front of a sold-out Cathedral of Bodø.

A dream team of Norwegian and Swedish jazz musicians participate on the project: Elin Rosseland (vocal), Knut Riisnæs (sax), Lars Jansson (piano), Bjørn Kjellemyr (bass), Roger Johansen (drums) and Finn Sletten (percussion) along with Bodø Domkor (Bodø Cathedral Choir) and Bodø Sinfonietta.

Inner Ear is proud to welcome Albatrosh to the “IE family”. Their debut album, “Seagull Island” was presented at Cafe Frölich, Oslo, 28th February 2009 and will find it´s way to the record stores the first week of March.
Albatrosh is an award-winning norwegian duo consisting of two young jazz musicians; André Roligheten (saxophones) & Eyolf Dale (piano). Both of the 23-year old musicians are jazz/impro students, accordingly at the jazz departments in Trondheim & Oslo.
Their music is based on their improvised expression, tied into their own compositions. Albatrosh is about the acoustic sound of the piano and saxophone, and with this they try to explore the possibilities of this lineup – working with expressions and sounds.
