Tore Johansen Unity appears at Nasjonal Jazzscene, friday 12th September.

Line up: Tore Johansen/trumpet, Jukka Perko/altsax, Knut Riisnæs/tenorsax, Lars Jansson/piano, Bjørn Kjellemyr/bass, Roger Johansen/drums.

Saturday 13th we enter Rainbow Studio w/ Jan Erik Kongshaug to make the fourth Inner Ear record.

World of Emiliy – live summer 2008

Roger and Tore will participate on a Hank Mobley Tribute on Kongsberg and Oslo Jazzfestival with, among others, Kjell Öhman and Hank Backenroth (“the swedes” – Kongsberg) and the legendary bassist Mads Vinding (“the dane” – Oslo).

What’s up in the month of May

Vigleik and Roger is attending the beautiful Maijazz festival in Stavanger this weekend, Vigleik with guitar master John Scofield, Roger with Norwegian diva of music, the legendary singer Nora Brockstedt, while Tore is touring the schools of Finnmark during daytime, and writing arrangement’s in various hotel rooms at night. More to come!

Saturday 29. March Roger and Tore are playing at Herr Nilsen, Oslo, with a couple of their favorites: Knut Riisnæs/sax, Ivar Antonsen/piano and Terje Venaas/bass. Hope to see you there!

Japanese blog

Through Disc Union our records are now available in Japan. Yesterday we found this blog on the Internet where Naoki Iwakiri praises Roger´s World of Emily. We don´t understand all of it, but it says something like this:

“Naoki Iwakiri liked so much about this CD… After listening to Marit Sandvik’s voice… He cannot stop, not even for drinking… While thinking about cold Nordic winter’s weather… umm… Nice atmosphere…
